

" In the United States Air Force, A Master Sergeant join an elite group. Sergeant is an ancient, honorable term that denotes a person possessing special skills, trust and integrity. You are now a Master Sergeant which means you have mastered the techniques and abilities of a Noncommissioned
Officers. As you progress to Senior Master Sergeant and Chief Master Sergeant your title will change but not the designation of a Senior Noncommissioned Office. You are afforded privileges not awarded others and you have freely accepted responsibility behond the normal call of duty. You have, by your actions and performance, earned the respected of your seniors, a well as your juniors. As Masters Sergeants your entire life will change. More will be expected and more will be demanded of you and not because you are a Master Sergeant, But because you are a Senior Noncommissioned Officer. You have not merely been promoted one pay grade, you have joined and exclusive group-a group dedicated to take care of those that follow in their footsteps. As a member of this group, you have the responsibility to your fellow Senior Noncommiioned Officers and they have a responsibility to you."
